Veteran actress Farrukh Jaffar is no longer in this world. She passed away at the age of 89. All of you must have seen Farrukh Jaffar in the film 'Gulabo Sitabo.' The actress is known for the same film. The news of her demise has been confirmed by her elder daughter Mehru Jaffar. Recently, she said, "Mother was not well. She was admitted to Sahara Hospital in Lucknow earlier this month. Farrukh Jaffar breathed her last at the hospital last Friday evening.''

Talking about her mother, Mehru said, "She was admitted to the hospital on October 4 due to difficulty in breathing. She was not well. Her lungs were unable to take oxygen at the time that was given to her. She passed away around 6 pm.'' On the other hand, Farrukh Jaffar's granddaughter Shaj Ahmed wrote on Twitter that "My grandmother and freedom fighter, wife of former MLC SM Jaffar and veteran actress Farrukh Jaffar passed away in Lucknow this evening.'' Farrukh Jaffar was a radio announcer in Lucknow Vividh Bharati in 1963. She made her debut on screen in 1981 with the film 'Umrao Jaan.' She played Rekha's mother in that film. After that film, she also worked with Aamir Khan's 'Peepli Live' and Shah Rukh Khan in 'Swades.' Apart from these films, she was also seen in 'Sultan.'

At the same time, Fatima Begum was one of her memorable characters in 'Gulabo Sitabo,' which starred her in the role of Amitabh Bachchan's wife. On her demise, Gulabo Sitabo writer Juhi Chaturvedi paid tribute to her and tweeted, 'Begum  Farrukh left, no one was like you, no one will be. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to join you. Be safe in the other world of Allah.'
