Zoya Akhtar directorial musical drama Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards in the foreign film category for next year. Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar look very happy on the film's Oscar entry. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt posted the same on Twitter and thanked the Federation. He wrote, 'We are very happy that Gully Boy has been selected as India's official film in the Best International Feature Film category at the 92nd Oscar Awards by India. Thanks to the Film Federation of India, Aparna Sen, Supran Sen, Anindya Dasgupta, all the members of the jury and our cast and crew.

According to information received from a media house, Alia Bhatt also said - 'Gully Boy is really very special for me as a film. Even more special is that the journey of this film has gone so long - the film won at the Melbourne Film Festival after its release in February. After this, it was also shown again in Japan. This film has been chosen to represent India.

Sharing his happiness with everyone, Ranveer Singh said, 'Gully Boy has echoed the sound of the streets. It will always be one of my closest films. As always, I will strive to make the flag of Hindi cinema soar. I am very happy that the hard work done by the team of 'Gully Boy'.
