The Niger government reported this. No one has claimed responsibility for Monday's attack, but the militants of the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara Group are always under attack in the Tillaberi area where villagers were attacked. When people were returning from a large cattle market in Banibangou, near the border of Mali and Niger, suspected militants attacked them and set fire to nearby food stores.

According to information received, government spokesman Abdourahmane Zakaria reported on Niger's state-held TV channel on Tuesday and announced a three-day national mourning for those killed in the attack.

It has been revealed that 100 people lost their lives in the attack in 2 villages of the Tillaberi region earlier in January. No terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
