Jammu and Kashmir DDC election: BJP shows strong performance, Gupkar alliance leads on 82 seats

Srinagar: The counting of votes for the election of District Development Council (DDC) continues in Jammu and Kashmir. Among the early trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gained an edge. As of the trends so far, 223 seats out of 280 of DDC have emerged. Of which BJP is leading in 47 seats. On the other hand, the Gupta Alliance has an edge over 82 seats, while the Congress is seen to lose 21 seats. Others are ahead in 50 seats.

The grouping alliance includes NC and PDP. In Verinag Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir Congress President G. Mir Son Nasir Ahmed Mir has kept the lead. In Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipura light, Gupkar alliance is leading in 8, BJP 1 and individuals at 3 seats. BJP is performing brilliantly in the counting of votes for the DDC elections in Kashmir. The trend of 109 seats has been revealed in the counting of elections for 140 seats in Kashmir division.

The BJP has performed well, leading in 38 seats. The People's Alliance for Group Declaration is leading in 34 seats. Mahmood Nisar of National Conference of People's Alliance has won from Shopian. Independent candidate Shaista Aslam won in Srinagar. Congress is ahead in 11, Jammu and Kashmir its party 5 and other 20 seats.
