New Delhi: Guru Har Rai was the 7th Guru of the Sikhs, the Hindu society also respects the Guru very much. Guru Har Rai ji was a spiritual and nationalist great man and also a warrior. He was born in 1630 in Kiratpur Ropar. The 6th Guru Hargobind Sahib, before his death, declared his grandson Har Rai Ji as 'Saptam Nanak' on March 3, 1644, at the young age of 14 years. Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji was the child of Baba Gurditta Ji and Mata Nihal Kaur Ji. Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji was married to Mata Kishan Kaur Ji, who was the daughter of Shri Daya Ram Ji of Anoop Shahar (Bulandshahr), Uttar Pradesh. Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji had two sons Shri Ramrai Wadwal and Shri Harkishan Sahib Ji (Guru).
Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji's calm personality used to impress people a lot. Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji reorganized the group of Sikh warriors of his grandfather and Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. He infused new life into the Sikh warriors. Apart from being a spiritual man, he was also a great politician. Mughal Aurangzeb was very jealous because of his nation-centric thoughts. Aurangzeb's allegation was that Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji had helped Dara Shikoh (Aurangzeb's elder brother). Actually, Dara Shikoh was a scholar of the Sanskrit language and the Indian philosophy of life was influencing him. Once Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji was coming back after his migration from Malwa and Doaba region. So Mohammad Yarbeg Khan attacked his convoy with one thousand of his armed soldiers. Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji along with the Sikh warriors bravely gave a befitting reply to this sudden attack. There was a lot of loss of life and property to the enemy and the Mughal army ran away from the battlefield. Guru Har Rai was in favor of being armed for self-defense, even though in his personal life he considered the principle of non-violence supreme religion important. Guru Har Rai Sahib often honored Sikh warriors with bravery awards.
Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji had also established an Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine Hospital and Research Center at Kiratpur. Once Dara Shikoh was in the grip of some unknown disease. The best doctors of all kinds were consulted. But, there was no improvement in his health. At last, he was cured by the grace of Guru Sahib. Thus Dara Shikoh was saved from death.
