Gurudwara Sri Tarn Taran is situated in the city Tarn Taran, Punjab is a prominent Sikh religious site. The gurudwara was established in the 16th century by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Guru of Sikhism. Guru Arjan Dev Ji is revered for compiling the Sikh scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, and for his role in promoting Sikhism and its principles of equality, service, and devotion.

 Around 1590 Guru Arjan Dev Ji was set out for the tour of the country between the river ravi and beas. As Guru Arjan Dev Ji reached Tarn Taran he bought the land over there to lay the foundation of Gurudwara top honor the fourth Guru of Sikhism Guru Ram Das Ji. Guru Sahib Ji started the excavation of a tank even larger than the Harmandir Sahib aka Golden temple.

The Gurudwara Sahib has one of the largest tanks and resembles the golden temple, expects that it is built on the side of the tank and has a marble exterior. Guru Araajn Dev Ji also established the first home for lepers in India at Tarn Taran.

The gurudwara is built around a sarovar (holy tank) known as Tarn Taran, which is believed to have healing properties. The name "Tarn Taran" translates to "saving boat" and it is believed that taking a dip in the sarovar can cleanse one's sins and provide spiritual healing.

The main complex of Tarn Taran Sahib Gurudwara features a magnificent golden domed building with intricate architectural designs. The interior houses the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, which is recited and venerated by the Sikh community. The gurudwara also has a langar hall, where free meals are served to visitors regardless of their caste, religion, or social status, adhering to the Sikh principle of community service.

A four storeyed building near the Nishan Sahib (Sikh flag), was constructed in 1841 by Maharaja Nau Nihal Singh. Maharaja Sher Singh provided the finishing touches. The Guru Granth Sahib, "after a procession around the sarovar amid" singing of hymns in the late evening, is, brought here for the night's rest.

Tarn Taran Sahib Gurudwara is a popular pilgrimage site for Sikhs and attracts a large number of devotees from around the world. The various religious festivals and events throughout the year are celebrated grandly, which includes Gurpurabs (birth anniversaries of Sikh Gurus) and Nagar Kirtans (religious processions).
