Lucknow: On April 12, in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the Central Goods Service Tax (CGST) team raided a gutkha trader. During this raid, 6 crore 31 lakh 11 thousand eight hundred rupees have been recovered from the gutkha trader. The merchant said that this money was kept inside the bed box in a vicious way.

State Bank employees had brought three machines and a big trunk to count the notes. After about 18 hours of counting, the officials took away the money in trunks. The Deputy Commissioner, who accompanied the team, has refused to say anything at the moment. He only told that the joint commissioner had given a search warrant, on the basis of that this action has been taken. The CGST team raided the place of Gutkha trader Jagat Gupta living near the police station in Sumerpur town. This raid by a 15-member team started at 6 am on April 12, which continued till the evening of April 13. By the end of the night, the bank employees had also arrived with three big trunks that kept the money.

The trunk has been sent to State Bank Hamirpur after filling it with money. At present, it is being estimated that the rigging done by the trader in the GST document is different, only the money in the boxes is being estimated in crores. The Deputy Commissioner, who came with the CGST team, only told that the Joint Commissioner had given him a search warrant, under which this action has been taken.
