Guyana and Barbados to Honor PM Narendra Modi with Their Highest Awards, Bringing Total International Accolades to 19
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to receive the highest national honors from Guyana and Barbados, adding to the growing list of international recognitions he has earned. Guyana will bestow upon PM Modi its most prestigious award, "The Order of Excellence," acknowledging his contributions to strengthening global relations. In a similar gesture, Barbados has announced that it will confer the "Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados" on the Indian Prime Minister.
These announcements come shortly after Dominica revealed that it would also present its top national award to PM Modi, highlighting the global appreciation for his leadership. With the upcoming recognitions from Guyana and Barbados, the total number of international honors received by PM Modi has now reached 19, a testament to his influence on the global stage.
An official from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that Guyana is currently the fastest-growing economy globally, with tremendous potential for future collaboration. The official emphasized that India will have significant opportunities to partner with Guyana across various sectors, capitalizing on the nation's rapid economic growth. "Guyana's remarkable progress as the fastest-growing economy in the world presents a range of avenues for collaboration, and India is poised to engage with them in diverse fields," stated Mazumdar, underscoring the promising prospects for bilateral ties.
Last week, the Commonwealth of Dominica announced that it will award Prime Minister Narendra Modi the prestigious Dominica Award of Honour. This award is being bestowed upon him for his outstanding contributions to Dominica during the COVID-19 pandemic and for his efforts in strengthening the ties between India and Dominica.
