New Delhi: Hackers have stolen more than $600 million Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. Hackers have done this by breaching the blockchain-based platform Poly Network. The company confirmed this through a tweet.  The biggest ever theft has taken place in decentralized finance or Defi space. Poly Network is a platform that allows consumers to exchange crypto tokens. It has been confirmed that thousands of investors have been affected by this crypto theft.

The cryptocurrency is reported to be the worst affected in this theft Ethereum. Hackers have stolen Ethereum of $273 million, Binance Smart Chain $253 million, and $85 U.S. Dollar Coin (USDC) tokens from the Polygon network. Tether worth $33 million was also stolen, but the attack was frozen by the issuer as soon as it was detected. This means hackers can't use these tokens. Poly tweeted that PolyNetwork was attacked. Several million dollars have been stolen from this attack by crypto investors.

The tweet also shared the address of the attackers on which the stolen money has been transferred. Ontology and Switcheo Neo said hackers should return it or legal action would be taken against them. Tell us that the attack comes at a time when the cryptocurrency market is going through a lot of turmoil. Poly Network said preliminary investigations revealed that hackers have taken advantage of the vulnerability between contract calls. There have been a lot of attacks this year, but such a huge amount has not been stolen yet.
