The US has asked Pakistan to ensure a factual and speedy hearing in the court in the Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed's case. The international community wants to see justice done in the Mumbai attack case.

166 people including many foreigners were killed and more than 300 were injured in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. American citizens were also among those killed. The US response came hours after the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court's decision in which Saeed and three of his special aides have been charged in the case of providing funds for terrorist activities. Assistant Secretary of State for South-Central Asia, Alice G. Wells, tweeted and welcomed the framing of charges against Hafiz Saeed and his associates.

The anti-terrorism court could not appear in the court on Thursday due to the strike of lawyers of the mastermind of Mumbai terror attack Hafiz Saeed and three of his associates. The case will now be heard on Friday. Saeed and his associates were to appear in the case of providing funds for terrorist activities. In this case, the court on Wednesday framed charges against Saeed and his associates - Hafiz Abdul Salam bin Muhammad, Muhammad Ashraf, and Zafar Iqbal. Now witnesses and evidence will appear in the case. The lawyer of the court of Lahore along with his partner was on strike to protest against the incident in the hospital.
