Saeed was arrested in July in a case related to terrorist funding. Prior to Saeed's arrest, the top 13 leaders of the JUD were booked under the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997 for nearly two dozen cases of money laundering and terrorist funding. These top leaders also include the names of Saeed and Naib Amir Abdul Rahman Makki.
