Dehradun: Recently, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy snowfall in four districts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Apart from this, there is a possibility of hailstorm in five districts including Dehradun. Due to rain-snowfall and hail, the cold will increase in the coming days.

According to the information received from the sources, let us tell you that it has been ascertained that since late Monday i.e. 25 November 2019, there was a cloud across the state. Late night, a light rain started in many areas including Dehradun. On Tuesday, the entire state was cloudy throughout the day. While there was light rain in the plains including Dehradun, there was snowfall in the mountainous areas.

Sources said that Meteorological Department Director Bikram Singh said that heavy snowfall alert has been issued on Wednesday in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts of the state. He said that hail could occur in Dehradun, Nainital, Tehri, Pauri and Haridwar districts on Wednesday, and light rain would continue in many places. Due to rain, snowfall, and hailstorm, the temperature is expected to fall. The same meteorological department says that if such weather is prevalent then extreme snowfall can also occur.
