New Delhi: Union Minority Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi recently made a statement and spoke about Haj. "The entire haj process in India in 2022 will be 100% digital. In fact, Naqvi inaugurated the online booking centre at Haj House in Mumbai last Saturday and then made a statement in which he said, "After Indonesia, the highest number of haj passengers are sent from India.'' He further said, "Due to the decision taken by the Covid-19 and the Saudi Government in the wake of the global epidemic, haj pilgrimage could not take place in 2020 and this year. Haj 2022 will be announced after consultations with various concerned departments at the Haj Review Meeting to be held in New Delhi on October 21.''

Let me inform all of you that officials from the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Health and Civil Aviation, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Consul General of India in Jeddah and other senior officials attended the Haj Review Meeting to be held in the National Capital. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "Arrangements have been made for Covid-19 protocol for Haj pilgrims in India and Saudi Arabia and special training for Haj 2022 on health and sanitation. The entire haj 2022 process in India will be 100% digital.''

He further informed that more than 700 women had applied for Haj in 2021 without 'Mehram' (male companion) and about 2,100 women applied in the same category in 2020. If they want to go on the Haj pilgrimage, their applications will also be valid for 2022. Let me tell all of you that the Minister in a meeting with senior officials of the Haj Committee of India has discussed the preparations for Haj 2022 only last Saturday.
