Dehradun: The sanitation workers associated with the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand Safai Karamcharis Sangh of Uttarakhand state created a lot of ruckus over their dismissal due to the agitation. She reached the mayor's residence to commit suicide. On the other hand, the police already present in the residence of the mayor have taken the woman into their custody.

Devbhoomi Uttarakhand Safai Karamcharis Sangh had agitated four months ago for all the demands. City Health Officer Dr Manoj Kandpal had sacked eight sanitation workers on charges of assault due to the agitation. Since then, these sanitation workers have been agitating for the demand for restoration.

On Tuesday, the sacked sweeper Anita reached the mayor's residence demanding reinstatement. She also warned of self-immolation if she did not reinstate. On the other hand, the police who reached on the complaint of self-immolation surrounded her. The sweeper made many allegations against the mayor. She said that on the one hand, the mayor is making vacancies of sanitation workers in the code of conduct, while the sacked sanitation workers are not being reinstated.
