In Haldwani, bodies are being burnt day and night at Muktidham on Tuesday. The situation became such that people were burning bodies on the road leading to Muktidham. Five bodies continued to burn from the Dham gate to the tin shed. There is chaos in the land of liberation. Locals said an ambulance arrived one by one on Tuesday and the driver unloaded the body at the gate and left. Half an hour later, the family arrived and picked up the body and put a pyre with their hands and the cremation was performed. Councillor Mahesh Chand says the committee does the work of cleaning the Mukti Dham and lifting the ashes of pyres. The committee staff left on Tuesday. This has made the situation worse. Pandits are not available for the programme also. People have to perform the action with their own hands. It is the family members who are engaged in the work. Meanwhile, locals started creating ruckus on Tuesday to protest against the burning of bodies of covid virus-infected people in Muktidham. He alleged that people were throwing biomedical waste in the open after burning the bodies. The smoke has disturbed the locals. It is alleged that some people started pelting stones at the people who came from their rooftops to perform the last rites. There people hid under the tin shed and saved themselves. However, police are refusing stone-pelting.

After the deaths due to covid, the bodies are being burnt at Muktidham in Rajpura. People of Rajpura on Tuesday started protesting against the burning of bodies in Muktidham. Councillor Mahesh Kumar alleged that people were throwing masks, PPE kits and other items and leaving. There is no system of sanitizing. The councillor said 21 bodies were burnt on Monday. More bodies are being burnt on Tuesday. The district administration has not made any arrangements here. CO Shantanu Parashar and Tehsildar rushed to the spot after receiving information about the protest.

The tehsildar assured to make arrangements for early cleanliness in the case. The councillor said that the burning of dead bodies among the population has disrupted the lives of the people. Nawabi Road councillor Rajendra Singh had gone to Jeena Muktidham in the evening. A person from the councillor's ward was killed. The councillor maintained that there was no arrangement from the administration at the ghat. Wood ing and other kinds of things have to be arranged on their own.
