In a latest statement, Khaled Mashal, a prominent member of the senior Hamas political bureau, has lauded the surprise attack by Hamas on Israel that occurred on October 7. Mashal believes this act has had far-reaching consequences, including benefits for Russia and a distraction for the United States from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. These remarks were made during an interview with MEMRI TV.

Khaled Mashal, a key figure within the Hamas organization, claimed that the surprise attack on Israel, which resulted in the loss of at least 1400 Israeli lives, has played to Russia's advantage. Mashal contends that the assault served as a distraction for the United States, drawing their attention away from the situation in Ukraine. This statement was reported by the Jerusalem Post.

Mashal went on to assert that Russia plans to use the Hamas attack as instructional material for its military. This development raises questions about the evolving dynamics of global conflicts and alliances.

During the same interview, Khaled Mashal revealed that the People's Republic of China has also taken notice of the audacious attack executed by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. He suggested that China is considering emulating this tactic with regard to Taiwan. According to Mashal, this recognition underscores the unique role that Hamas plays on the global stage, offering a "master class" in unconventional warfare.

Hamas in Moscow: Diplomatic Intrigue: A Hamas delegation recently visited Moscow to engage with Russian foreign ministry officials. This move raised concerns in Israel, which promptly called for the expulsion of Hamas leaders from Russian soil. Russia defended its stance, emphasizing that it maintains relations with all parties involved in the ongoing conflict.

Hamas Acknowledges Russian Diplomacy: Notably, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that the Hamas delegation did not have the opportunity to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin or any high-ranking Kremlin officials. Despite this, Hamas leaders expressed their appreciation for President Putin's neutral stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict. In return, Hamas pledged to cooperate with Russia in locating dual nationals who were abducted by the group during the October 7 attack.

Humanitarian Concerns Persist: It's important to note that Hamas has been holding over 200 individuals, including foreign nationals, as captives. Tragically, over 50 of these captives have lost their lives due to Israeli airstrikes. This situation continues to be a cause for concern on the international stage.

The impact of the Hamas attack on Israel and its geopolitical implications underscore the complex nature of conflicts in the modern world, with countries like Russia and China closely observing and responding to these developments.
