Jammu: BJP leader Hameed Nazar was seriously injured in the terror attack on Sunday. Due to treatment, he breathed his last on Monday, and his body has been surrendered. Hameed was the BJP District President of Budgam.

On Sunday morning, terrorists shot Hameed when he went out for a morning walk. The injured BJP leader was admitted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar in critical condition. According to the police, Abdul Hameed lived in a safe place. He left for a walk at 6:30 am on Sunday without informing the security personnel. The terrorists shot him near the Budgam railway station. The police has filed a case. So far no organization has taken responsibility for this attack.

In the Kulgam town, on August 6, the terrorists had murdered Sajjad Khande, the sarpanch associated with the BJP. Earlier on August 4, a panch belonging to BJP was shot. Panch is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Srinagar. Earlier, the Dashtgards had killed Sarpanch of Larkipura area of Anantnag town and Congress member Ajay Pandita in his village on 8 June. A threatening audio has gone viral on social media on Sunday in the midst of continuous terrorist attacks on BJP leaders, in which the Panch-sarpanches and others associated with the BJP have been threatened with breaking ties with the party. With this, the terrorists have killed many innocent people.
