It is being talked about here, the serial 'Ramayana' based on the religious and mythological theme telecast on Doordarshan, in which the actor who played the role of Lord Rama was overwhelmed by the "Door Ke Darshan".

Not only that, when it was time for the Ramayana serial to be telecast, the streets felt as if there was a curfew. The role of Lord Rama in the serial was played by actor Arun Govil. And thus presented themselves to the people who began to see the image of Lord Rama in them. Arun Govil, who was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on January 12, 1958, received as much popularity as the Ramayana serial, neither from other serials nor any film.

Now even though the Ramayana does not appear to be a serial, Arun Govil's image still remains on the minds of the people as Ram. Whenever the Ramayana is mentioned, Arun Govil comes out as Lord Rama, Govil is 58 years old today. He worked in many films and TV serials in his career but people could not accept him in those characters. Because people used to see Lord Rama in them. It didn't look at the audience to see Arun Govil in any other character.
