Singer Shaan, who has given his voice for many best songs in Bollywood films has completed 47 years of his life. He was born on 30 September 1972 in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Shaan belongs to a Bengali Brahmin family. Shaan got the quality of music from his family. He is the son of music director Late Manas Mukherjee. Shahan's grandfather Jahar Mukherjee is a lyricist and he is the brother of singer Sagarika. When his father passed away when he was 13 years old, his mother worked as a singer and took care of the family.

Shaan, who started his career at the age of 17 in 1989, has spread the magic of his voice in Bengali, Urdu and Kannada languages, including Hindi. Shaan gained fame only after singing a remix of RD Burman's song 'Roop Tera Mastana', besides singing music like 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa', 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa- Little Champs', 'Star Voice of India' Reality has also hosted the show. Shaan has sung songs in many Bollywood films and many of her songs have been super hit. 

Shaan made his acting debut in Bollywood with the film 'Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya' but could not leave a mark like music in acting. In 2000, he received MTV Asia Music's Best Solo Album for the album 'Tanha Dil'. He also won titles like Golden Voice of India, Voice of Paradise, Magician of Melody. Shaan has also sung some Pakistani songs in his career. Along with this, Shaan used to sing jingles for commercials as a judge in some singing reality shows.
