Today is the birthday of renowned actress Ritu Shivpuri of Hindi cinema. Ritu Shivpuri was born on January 22, 1975. Ritu Shivpuri is the daughter of actors Om Shivpuri and Sudha Shivpuri. Ritu has worked in Kannada cinema besides Hindi cinema. Ritu started her acting career with the film 'Aankhen.' She was accompanied by superstar Govinda in this film. The film has proved to be a blockbuster hit on the big screen.

Filmmaker David Dhawan's directorial 'Aankhen' was one of the highest-grossing films of the year. After this, she appeared in 'Aar Ya Paar' (1997), 'Had Kar Di Aapne' (2000), 'Lajja' (2001), 'Shakti: The Power' (2002), 'Hum Sab Chor Hain' (1995),' also worked in many films like 'Bhai Bhai' (1997), 'Kala Samrajya' (1999), 'Dubai Return' (2005), 'Ek Jind Ek Jaan' (2006). Apart from Bollywood, Ritu has also played some memorable roles in Kannada cinema.
 
She then moved away from the world of entertainment for nearly a decade as she was busy taking on the responsibility of marriage and family. But through the small screen, she made a comeback to the world of acting. Ritu Shivpuri was seen in the second season of Anil Kapoor's show '24.' She also worked as a jewellery designer for a few days after taking a break from films. Ritu Shivpuri has also done several TV shows for which her acting has also been highly appreciated.
