The most popular Team India captain Virat Kohli is always known for his captaincy and gaming. His fans are also eagerly waiting for some new post or match, while he is celebrating his birthday today. Virat was born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi to a Punjabi family. His father, Prem Kohli, worked as a criminal lawyer and his mother, Saroj Kohli, is a housewife. He has an elder brother, Vikas and an elder sister Bhavna. According to his family, he was interested in cricket ever since he was three years old and used to ask his father to bowl to him.

Kohli was raised in Uttam Nagar and started his schooling from Bharti Public School. In 1998, the West Delhi Cricket Academy was formed and nine-year-old Kohli was part of its first intake. Following suggestions from his neighbours that Kohli's father took him to the academy, "Virat should not waste his time in Gali cricket and join a professional club instead." Kohli trained at the academy under Rajkumar Sharma and also played matches at the Sumit Dogra Academy in Vasundhara Enclave at the same time.

Sharma recalls Kohli's early days at his academy, saying, "He calmed the talent. He found it very difficult to keep quiet. It was natural in what he did and I was most impressed by his attitude. He was on any occasion but was ready to bat. I literally had to push them home after training sessions. He just won't leave." In ninth grade, he moved to the Savior Convent in Paschim Vihar to help with his cricket practice. Apart from the game, Kohli was also good with academics, and his teachers remembered him as a bright and cautious child. His family stayed in Mira Bagh until 2015 when he moved to Gurgaon. He is currently busy with his IPL matches these days and is also giving fresh advice to his team.
