Today, Mother's Day is being celebrated all over the country. You have to know how this day started. How was this day dedicated to mothers? How was this day made memorable for sacrifice? How were the mothers appreciated on this day and their dedication thanked? But did you know that the woman who started this day also tried to end it? Of course, effort was not successful, but her family and relatives do not celebrate this day. What was the reason for this? Why did the one who started this day come out in protest? The answers to these many questions today let us tell you.

The second Sunday of May chosen for this reason:- Everyone knows that mother's day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of the month of May. This tradition has been going on for nearly 110 years. The day was started by Anna Jarvis. She dedicated the day to his mother and chose the date in such a way that he fell on his mother's death anniversary around 9th May. It may be noted that this time Mother's Day falls only on 9th May.

This led Anna opposing Mother's Day:- When Mother's Day was celebrated for the first time in the world, Anna Jarvis was a poster girl in a way. She distributed her mother's favourite white carnation flowers to women that day, which were taken into practice. Commercialization of these flowers increased in such a way that in the coming years, white carnation flowers started blackmarketing in a way on Mother's Day. People started trying to buy them at the highest prices. Anna was furious and started a campaign to end the day.

How far did Anna's campaign reach? - After the sale of white carnation flowers on Mother's Day, toffees, chocolates and a variety of gifts also started coming into vogue. Ana also reprimanded the people. She said people reduced the importance of this day by commercialising for their greed. In 1920, he even urged people not to buy flowers. Anna continued to campaign to end the day till her last moments. She also launched a signature campaign for it, but success did not work out and around 1948 Anna bid farewell to the world.

Anna's relatives don't celebrate this day:- Anna's campaign against mother's day commercialization may not have affected the whole world, but her family and relatives do not celebrate this day. In fact, in an interview with the media a few years ago, Anna's relative Elizabeth Burr said that her aunts and father never celebrated Mother's Day because they respected Anna a lot. They were deeply impressedby Anna's feeling that commercialization changed the meaning of this very special day.
