New Delhi: Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh on Thursday said that a recently retired player like Ashish Nehra should be made the coach of the team and Hardik Pandya the captain after India's humiliating defeat in the T20 World Cup semi-final against England in Adelaide on Thursday (November 10). Harbhajan Singh has said that Team India needs someone who understands the format better and has played T20 cricket recently.  

Let us tell you that in the year 2022, the team Gujarat Titans won the trophy in its first season. The captain of this team is Hardik Pandya and Nehra is the coach. Harbhajan said that 'Not just the captain, you can bring in someone who has recently said goodbye to T20 cricket and who understands the format. Rahul Dravid has been my partner and we have played a lot of cricket together. He understands cricket very well. I think if you don't want to drop Dravid as coach from T20, then bring someone who has recently retired to help him.'

Harbhajan Singh said that 'Someone like Ashish Nehra should be brought in, who understands cricket much better. Look what he has done for Gujarat Titans. The presence of Nehra will also encourage young players. You can bring in any former player who retired recently.'
