New Delhi: Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri has welcomed the Delhi High Court's verdict on the Central Vista Project. He said 'Wrong information has been given to the people of the country on Central Vista. For the past few months, false allegations have been made. False narratives were prepared. He said false allegations were made in the past few days and it was called vanity project. It's not required. Some called it the Modi Palace to be built for Rs 13,400 crore. But I ask, where did these figures come from?".

Hardeep Puri clarified the ongoing discussions on the cost of the project. He said 'Work on only two projects is currently underway. These projects are the new Parliament House and Central Vista Avenue'. Hardeep Puri said 'The new Parliament House costs Rs 862 crore and Central Vista Avenue costs Rs 477 crore. In all, the cost is around Rs 1300 crore. The Union Minister said that the 75th anniversary of Independence in 2022 will be celebrated in the new Parliament'.

Hardeep Puri further said that the old Parliament House was in the seismic zone-2 of the earthquake area, but the new building is being built in Seismic Zone-4. Where the risk is low. He said parliament house was built 100 years ago, it was not for today. It was built by a government that ruled the country. He said Rashtrapati Bhavana, north block and south block will not be under in the central vista project.
