Aviation Minister: Flights to Singapore are already cancelled, said on CM Kejriwal's appeal

New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's claims of a new Singapore corona variant Singapore on Tuesday said there is no reality in the context of Indian media reports about the presence of a new variant of corona virus in the country. It also said that it is not a Singapore variant. Singapore's health ministry said there is a B.1.617.2 variant that has caused tension in several corona cases in recent weeks. It originated in India.

Replying to CM Arvind Kejriwal's tweet, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told him that 'Kejriwal ji it has been already cancelled all international flights since March 2020 and there is no air bubble with Singapore. Some flights are running under 'Vande Bharat' to bring back Indian nationals stranded there. They are all our own people. We are constantly monitoring it. All precautions are being taken'.

In a tweet to the Centre on Tuesday, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal warned the Centre about a 'new Singapore Covid-19 variant', saying the new chaved variant in Singapore is said to be extremely deadly for children. This could come as the third wave in India. It is my duty to the Central Government to cancel air services with Singapore with immediate effect and priority should be fixed on the option of vaccine for children also.
