Ahmedabad: Today on Thursday, the results of the Gujarat assembly elections will come. The credibility of many political parties including BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party is at stake. In such a situation, the focus is on three young leaders of Gujarat. These leaders are Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor, and Jignesh Mevani. In the last elections, all these three leaders had become a challenge for the BJP, but this time the situation has changed. Of these, Alpesh and Hardik are contesting elections from BJP while Jignesh is trying his luck on the Congress ticket. In such a situation, it has to be seen whether the trio of young leaders of Gujarat can reach the assembly.
Will Hardik Patel reach the assembly:
Hardik Patel, who was the face of the Patidar reservation movement in Gujarat, left the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party just before the elections. Hardik Patel is contesting from his hometown Viramgam on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket, challenging Congress's sitting MLA Lakhabhai Bharwad. This is considered a strong seat of Congress and has been winning continuously for the last two elections. While Hardik is from the Patidar community, Lakhabhai Bharwad comes from a backward class. In such a situation, there is a close fight.
Will Alpesh Thakor become an MLA again:-
Alpesh Thakor, who made his identity as an anti-liquor agitator by forming the Gujarat Kshatriya Thakor Sena, is contesting from the Gandhinagar South seat on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket, facing Himanshu Patel of the Congress and Devendra Patel of the AAP. In 2017, Alpesh Thakor became MLA from the Radhanpur seat of Banaskantha on a Congress ticket but later joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Contested the by-elections from Radhanpur in 2019, but could not win. In such a situation, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Alpesh from Gandhinagar South, where the Bharatiya Janata Party has been winning continuously for the last two elections.
Will Jignesh Mevani reach the assembly again:-
Jignesh Mevani, who is considered to be the face of Dalit politics in Gujarat, has contested from the Vadgam seat on a Congress ticket. In front of Mevani, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Manilal Vaghela, who won from Vadgam in 2012 from the Congress. AAP and AIMIM also have candidates for this seat. Mevani had become an independent MLA from the Vadgam seat in 2017, but Congress supported him. Jignesh Mevani has joined the Congress and is considered a close leader of Rahul Gandhi. Political challenge has arisen for Mevani due to the candidature of Asaduddin Owaisi's party. In such a situation, it has to be seen whether Mevani reaches the assembly again or not.
