Haridwar: Mahakumbh-2121 is being started in Haridwar, Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand from today. Devotees will have to bring the RTPCR negative report of the coronavirus up to 72 hours in advance for the Ganga bath at Mahakumbh, which runs till 30 April. Without the corona Negative Report, devotees will not be able to bathe in the Ganges. Devotees coming from the 12 states most affected by corona will be specially monitored. The Health Department will conduct random sampling of pilgrims in all the borders and fair areas of Haridwar. In Dharamshalas and hotels, devotees will not be able to stay without a negative report of the corona.

Kumbh Mela CMO Dr. SK Jha said random sampling will be done in border and fair areas. Random samples of one or two members of families coming from susceptible regions will be taken. All people will be returned when found infected on the border. Those found positive in the fair area will be isolated in the covid care centers. 33 teams have been formed for investigation. There are ten private and 23 government. More than 10,000 antigen samples will be taken every day.

The coronavirus will be compulsorily screened on the state border of passengers coming from 12 states susceptible to coronavirus. The passengers and their entire group will be returned when the infection is confirmed.
