Bike lovers long for a drive in Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the charisma features all make people to get addicted to it. Such a wonderful motorcycle is coming to India from the Hero Motocorp unit. Harley-Davidson motorcycles has made an agreement with Hero motocorp to sell and service its motorcycles in India. The agreement was announced on October 27. As per the licensing agreement, Hero MotoCorp is licensed to develop and sell the premium range of motorcycles under the Harley-Davidson brand name.

Harley-Davidson (HD) parts and accessories sales and general merchandise such as riding gear and apparel through a network of brand-exclusive Harley-Davidson dealers and Hero’s existing dealership network in the country will be carried out by the Hero Motocorp. The HD company has made an announcement in September to change its business model in India, the license is in alignment with the company's statement.

The iconic American cruiser, aiming an annual sales of 10,000 units, struggled to sell even a 25% in FY20, even after US president Trump asked the Indian government to cut taxes. In September, HD announced it quits in India. Another reason is lack of clear demand outlook. The coronavirus pandemic has pushed the India's two-wheeler demand back by 2-3 years. A private rating agency, has reported the decline in two-wheeler sales by 16-18% amounts to 1.7 crore units in FY 2021.
