Harmanpreet Kaur is the new captain of Indian Women cricket team. She is replacing former captain Mithali Raj, However Mithali Raj will be in the team lead by Harmanpreet Kaur. On Saturday BCCI has announced the new captain for Indian Women T20 cricket. Mithali raj will remain captain for the ODI games. The announcement is the upcoming series against West Indies in the homeland and after that Asia cup which will be played in Thailand from 27 November.

The board has also announced the squad for the upcoming gaming encounters.

Asia Cup squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj, S Meghna, Vanitha VR, Anuja Patil, Veda Krishnamurthy, Sushma Verma, Nuzhat Parween, Poonam Yadav, Ekta Bist, Preeti Bose, Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey, Mansi Joshi.

ODI squad for West Indies series: Mithali Raj (captain), Harmanpreet Kaur, Smrit Mandhana, Thirush Kamini, Mona Meshram, Veda Krishnamurthy, Devika Vaidya, Sushma Verma, Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey, Sukanya Parida, Ejta Bisht, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Deepti Sharma.
