Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the first India player to be signed up by a BBL team, has proved a useful all-rounder for Sydney Thunder. Mandhana was roped in by Brisbane Heat, but hasn’t had a great run so far. Harmanpreet Kaur turn a year old today, she turns 29. Harmanpreet Kaur played 81 ODI’s game for India in which she scores 2121 runs with an impressive average of 37. Harmanpreet Kaur 171 which is currently the second-highest score by an Indian batter in women's one-day internationals, behind Deepti Sharma's 188 runs.

Indian women's Twenty20 cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to join Punjab Police as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on March 1. This became possible after Indian Railways relieved Harmanpreet following her request to join Punjab Police. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had also taken up the matter with the Railway Ministry to waive off the bond condition and allow Harmanpreet, who is a native of Moga, to join as a DSP in Punjab.

A spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said the Railways had sent a letter to the government conveying their acceptance of Amarinder's request for bond waiver to enable the cricketer to realise her dream of becoming a police officer.
