Harpreet Singh, an Indian cricketer, has suffered to bag an Indian Premier League contract. His name was misinterpreted with one of the other cricketers named Harmeet Singh. Some media outlets have misreported about the former one that he was the one who had driven his car into the Andheri railway station, Mumbai resulting in his arrest.

Undoubtedly, the offender was Harmeet Singh who once played for Rajasthan Royals. Whereas, Harpreet Singh was quite attractive for the bids as he had played well recently in Syed Mushtaq Ali interzonal T20 competition. He expressed, "I had performed well during the T20 meet. I have played in the IPL before. I definitely thought I would be bought."

Many of the franchises of IPL were interested in buying him until the news broke. The player has already played for Kolkata Knight Riders. He said, "It was not only me. Even my parents suffered. They started getting calls from everywhere and had to keep on denying. It would be okay if I were not picked because of my performances but this episode has left me confused. I just want the whole matter to clear up fast so that I can concentrate on my cricket."
