Monday saw the start of the official burial service for Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey in London. King Charles, the British royal family, and world leaders have gathered to say goodbye to Britain's longest-reigning head of state. Across 2000 people attended the funeral of the Queen from all over the world, including US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden.

Prior to the brief procession that took Queen Elizabeth's coffin to Westminster Abbey, all the senior members of the royal family could be seen arriving at Westminster Hall. Along with his son Prince William, King Charles rode up in the automobile. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were seen travelling in the same vehicle when they arrived. In the automobile with Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, were Queen Consort Camilla and her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Prior to the burial, various members of the public paid their condolences as the late king was laid to rest in the parliamentary complex's oldest structure since Wednesday. Long lines of people waited to say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II along the banks of the River Thames.

King Charles III also made an emotional remark prior to the funeral service in which he thanked mourners from all around the world for their encouraging words during this difficult time. In his statement, he said, "As we all prepare to say our last farewell, I wanted simply to take this opportunity to say thank you to all those countless people who have been such a support and comfort to my Family and myself in this time of grief."
