Assembly Elections 2019: BJP can announce candidates till this date

New Delhi: With the announcement of the assembly election dates in Maharashtra and Haryana by the Election Commission, the ethos of conduct has come into force in both states. The BJP is in power in both the states. And its direct competition is with Congress. BJP is confident of its victory in both the states. The party can issue the list of candidates on 29 or 30 September. By then PM Modi will return from the US tour. After this, the list of candidates will be finalized in the parliamentary board meeting.

Last time the BJP was in the fray with only Narendra Modi's face in both the states, but this time Modi, as well as the faces of Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra and Manohar Lal Khattar in Haryana, will also face the public as the Chief Minister. Four months ago, the opposition had suffered heavy defeats in the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana and Maharashtra. While the BJP was successful in winning all seven seats in Haryana, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra won 43 out of 48 seats.

It is being said that the results of the assembly elections will also be in line with this. However, in Maharashtra last time, just before the BJP assembly elections, it had decided to break the 25-year-old alliance with the Shiv Sena and contest alone. BJP emerged as the largest party in this election and formed the government. In Haryana, the BJP alone is claiming to win three-fourths of its seats.
