Like the CBSE Board last year, Haryana Board President Professor Jagbir Singh said this decision has been taken as the schools could not open due to the COVID-19. The Haryana Board had reduced the 30% of the syllabus for both classes in 2020 as well. He said the school principals and students could download the newly uploaded syllabus and ensure preparation for the examinations according to the reduced syllabus.

The Board of School Education, Haryana, has decided to do so for secondary and senior secondary classes for the academic session 2021-22. The new syllabus is available on the official website of the board i.e. www.bseh.org.in.
Board president, Prof Jagbir Singh, said the syllabus of both above classes had been reduced by 30 percent.

He said the decision had been taken as the schools could not open due to the Covid pandemic and school education had been disrupted. The Haryana government earlier announced the reopening of schools for Classes 9 to 12 from July 16, saying students will be allowed to join with the permission of their parents, and the students of Classes 6 to 8 will also be able to attend school from July 23.
