It will now be faster to restore the old form of 16495 rural and urban ponds in the BJP ruled state of Haryana. The government has given a screw to fill technical posts in Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority. The terms and conditions made for filling technical posts were changed in the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha. The government has unanimously passed the Haryana Pond and Apajal Management Authority Amendment Bill 2020 for this. Now the post of technical advisor and member secretary will be filled in the authority soon. Since the terms and conditions were tightened, these posts could not be filled till now.

To increase the role of technical experts, the government has also increased the posts of government members in the authority from two to three. The authority has given a unique ID to all the ponds. 15891 ponds are rural and 604 ponds are in urban areas. The government has sent the action plan for rejuvenation of all the ponds to the NGT through Central Pollution Control Board.

Regarding the matter, Congress MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi says that if we look at the condition of the ponds, his case is directly related to the ICU. The government took quick steps to improve their condition. Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal said that the Archaeological Survey of India department does not allow water to be filled in the ponds. Due to which the ponds are being damaged.
