Chandigarh: Like many other states of the country, the Haryana government had banned the burning of firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali, expressing concern over pollution during the crisis period of the Corona epidemic. Since then, this decision of the government was being opposed by many Hinduist organizations. These people alleged that this decision of the government was an insult to the main festival of Hindus.
However, now the Manohar Lal Khattar government of Haryana has reversed its decision and has decided to give some relaxation to fireworks. The Haryana government has allowed people to burst firecrackers on Diwali and Guruparv from 8–10 pm and on Christmas and New Year nights from 11:55 am to 12:30 pm. This order issued by Haryana Sarkar said that firecrackers can be sold only through licensed traders. No e-commerce website will take orders for crackers.
CM Manohar Lal Khattar had given information regarding this decision and said that two hours concession has been given so that the traders do not suffer loss. Explain that in view of rising air pollution and corona epidemic, several other states including Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka have banned the use of fireworks this Diwali.
