Chandigarh: The Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana on Monday decided to appoint counsellors to address the problems faced by school students in their studies. Meanwhile, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar tweeted "The Haryana government has decided to appoint a counsellor to solve the problems faced by school students in their studies. These counsellors will be selected from among the permanent PGT (Psychology) teachers working in government schools of the state."
In fact, councillors will be appointed in every block of the state, for which an order has been issued by the Haryana government. According to the order, teachers posted in the district will be appointed to the post of counsellor on deputation, but before that their psychometric test will be taken. The department will set up a counsellor cell in each block, the counsellors posted in it will go to two-three schools daily and make the students stress-free by giving them career-related guidance so that they will identify the subjects of interest of the students and give career-related suggestions.
Most of the students are under stress about studying in schools. In such a situation, the most stress is about the preparation for the board exam. Apart from this, after passing 10th, there is tension in the students about the choice of subject and career. Although many times the student is interested in another subject, but under the pressure of the family, he is not able to take up the interesting subject, so that he is not able to perform better. Many such cases have come to light. In view of these, CM Khattar has decided to appoint a councillor.
