New Delhi: A young woman who was allegedly gang-raped in Hathras, UP, was cremated during a massive altercation late Tuesday night. In view of the growing tension, the funeral was held at 2.45 am without family people. It is also being said that after nearly 15 days of life and death in critical condition, the victim succumbed to her injuries at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday morning. The young woman got raped by several people in the village. Police have also taken custody of 4 persons in the case.

According to information received, the police team took the body of the young woman from Delhi at around 12 o'clock in the night and reached bull Garhi area of her village Hathras. As soon as the young woman's body reached, crowds of people began to overflow. It is also being said that the police wanted to take the body directly to graveyard. But the women of the village did not let it happen. The police and the family also had a fight. The police later succeeded in taking the body to the cremation ground in the other way.

When the police reached the village, the women began demanding to see the body. Women were saying, "Once show the face of daughter." In the meantime, the villagers also started quarreling with the police. SP and DM of the district also rushed to the spot and tried to convince the villagers. The villagers were demanding that the funeral of the body must be done. However, the administration decided to perform the body's cremation at night. After which the girl was cremated at around 2.45 pm without the presence of a family.
