Resentment increased over Hathras case, people gathered at India Gate

New Delhi: Today all kinds of meetings are banned at India Gate and the surrounding area of Delhi. The police gave this information on Thursday. However, after the permission of the officials, 100 people will gather at Jantar Mantar, 3 km from India Gate. Delhi Police tweeted and informed that due to the implementation of Section 144 of the CRPC, no meeting was ordered around India Gate. But after the death of the 19-year-old gang-rape victim of Hathras in UP, the angry people were planning a protest at India Gate today, for which the police have imposed Section 144.

The protesters chose the day of October 2 to protest, as today is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Bapu kept raising his voice against the oppressed of the backward and deprived throughout his life. The Dalit gang-rape victim of Hathras died in Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday after fighting for her life for 2 weeks, after which there is outrage across the country.

The state government has been under severe condemnation for the past three days on the Hathras case, as well as the demand for justice for the victim is arising. The UP government is also targeted by the opposition parties. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut are constantly being questioned about the law and order of UP. 

The National Commission for Women has also sought an answer from the UP DGP on this matter. The petitioner has appealed to the Supreme Court for the Central Bureau of Investigation or the Special Investigation Team. Uttar Pradesh Police is under investigation for alleged lapses in the entire case of Hathras. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said that a three-member panel has been formed to take action and file a report within seven days.
