Have you ever heard about that challenge where you have to watch a horror movie alone in the theatre? Probably you all must have given it a thought.  But what you’ll do if you are asked to go to a real haunted and spooky place. There are many places in India which are considered the most haunted and nobody is allowed to go there after dusk or entry is completely forbidden. It is in most of the people’s bucket lists to visit these places. A lot of unnatural incidents took place there and many people have shared their own experiences about it. So here we have a list of scariest places in India.

Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan: ‘It’s a Magic Tale’

Most of you may have heard of this fort before. It is one of the most haunted places in India. It is situated on the border of Sariska Tiger Reserve, in Alwar district. It has a history. Locals say that a magician fell in love with Princess Ratnavati. He tried to trick the princess with his black magic but somehow the princess came to know about it and she reversed his trick on him. Before dying, he cast a dark spell on the palace which caused its doom.  We can say it is still an unsolved mystery with a rich history.

Emperor Madho Singh asked for the approval of Guru Balu Nath to build this city. He was an ascetic who used to meditate there. The saint gave his approval on the condition that the shadow of the Emperor’s palace should never fall on his retreat. If in case it happened, the city would turn into ashes. Once the construction was completed, the retreat of Guru Balu was unfortunately shadowed by the palace. According to the condition and Guru’s saying the palace devastated. The witness’ says that tomb of Guru Balu Nath can still be found among the debris.

 

Dumas Beach, Gujarat: ‘Dark as the sand’

This beach is famous for its black sand and also for its paranormal activities. People have experienced strange things and many went missing after visiting this haunted place. If the stories are to be believed, it was used as a Hindu cremation ground. Visitors say that they have heard voices and seen some unnatural activities.

 

Savoy Hotel In Mussoorie:  ‘Thank you for your stay’

This hotel is considered one of the most haunted hotels in India. Agatha Christie one of the known writers wrote a book-'The Mysterious Affair at styles' about the supernatural beings and the paranormal incidents that took place in this hotel. As it says that everything has a past attached to it. The same goes for this hotel. A lady named Garnet Orme was murdered by adding strychnine in her medicine bottle. Years later, the doctor who was treating her was found dead in similar circumstances. This death created a buzz. Even today people fear to stay at this hotel.

 

GP Block, Meerut: ‘Booze with Bhoots’

Locals witnessed spirits outside the GP Block in Meerut. They have seen women wearing red dresses and men drinking alcohol. Whenever someone tries to go close to check, these spooky people disappear. It’s still an unsolved mystery; nobody knows who these people are. This place is considered one of the haunted places in North India.

 

Tunnel No. 33, Shimla-Kalka Train Route; ‘Captain still on duty’

Shimla is known for its scenic beauty. It’s a merry place and it’s difficult to believe that this place can scare someone. But the Shimla-Kalka train route is considered the scariest tunnel. There was a captain, Barog a British engineer. He was in charge of building this tunnel but somehow he failed, he was fined by the government and later he died of the humiliation. Locals say that the captain’s spirit talks to people who pass by and sees him. Some even say that they have seen a woman screaming and passing the tunnel.

 

Ravindra Nagar in Hyderabad: ‘Abandoned Nagar’

This locality in Hyderabad is abandoned by a number of families after a series of suicides took place in the year 2012. Locals say that it is the wrath of the Goddess because her temple was demolished. Many people are still living there and some left the place out of fear. The lights of the empty houses are still on. These incidents made a lot of headlines in the newspapers.

There are many more places which are the scariest. They are not only palaces or routes or tunnels.

Delhi Cantonment Area: - It is haunted by a mysterious woman dressed in white. She is said to be hitch-hiking here for decades.

Karkardooma Delhi Court: - Spirits never follow any laws, many tragic incidents for the spooky occurrences recorded.

Shaniwarwada Fort in Pune: - Soul of people wander on the full moon night that lost their lives in the fire that engulfed the fort long back.

Writers’ Building in Kolkata: - During the evening, night guards and food vendors heard desperate cries from the building.

Three Kings Chapel, Goa: - Spirits of three Portuguese kings still resides there. The presence of unnatural personalities can be sensed.

People believe that these places are cursed or hideous incidents took place there. Some believe these are just rumors but these spine chilling stories make you believe in them when you sense them on your own.
