Venugopal Dhoot is one of the most prominent and respected businessmen of emerging India. He was Born on September 30, 1951. He has been the promoter and chairman of The Videocon Group of Companies as well as major reasons for the group's huge growth, success and popularity. Personally, he has completed his studies at Ferguson College of Engineering, Pune and currently lives with his wife Rama Dhoot and their two children, Anirood and Suralso. His two younger brothers are Raj Kumar Dhoot [Mp(MP) and Pradeep Kumar Dhoot in the current BJP government.

Venugopal Dhoot is considered a big fan of cricket and is also in the process of buying an IPL (Indian Premier League) team for himself. Additionally, he has also launched a cricket school in Kolkata to train and promote India's young cricketers between the age group of 10 to 17 years under the guidance of Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly. He is a staunch environmentalist who is also recognised for completing a project to plant 2,000,000 teak trees across India.
