HCL and other entities to invest Rs 5000 cr in Karnataka: Minister

Bengaluru:  Top technology conglomerates such as HCL, Applied Material, Rakon, and Chint have come forward to invest more than Rs 5,000 crore in Karnataka state, Karnataka Minister for Higher Education, Information Technology, and Biotechnology C.N. Ashwathnarayan said.

At the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2021, Ashwathnarayan told the media that this investment will result in the creation of more than 15,000 employment in the state.

The Ministr cited the government's appealing electronic systems design and manufacturing strategy as inspiration, noting that IFB and Tejas had expressed interest in establishing manufacturing facilities in the state. In addition, Google Tag Manager has expressed an interest in establishing a branch in Chamarajanagar.

Some of the companies who have expressed interest in investing have been given land, while the remaining companies will be given facilities, according to Narayan. According to the Minister, the investment will allow for the production of semiconductors, electronics, solar cells, washing machines, and air conditioner motors.
