Govinda needs no introduction. He is one of the most loved actors in Bollywood. The actor is celebrating his birthday today. Rohit Shetty who is leaving no stones unturned in promoting his movie Cirkus hailed Govinda in his recent interview.

Govinda has given various hits in his career including Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Deewana Mastana, Bade Miya Chote Miya, Hero No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Dulara, Shola Aur Shabnam, Dulhe Raja, Haseena Maan Jayegi are some of the films that proved to be blockbusters one after the other.  There was a time when he had signed more than 50 movies in a year. He was among the best and highest-paid actors but things changed.

Rohit Shetty recalling Govinda’s contribution to the film industry said , "For 10 years, that guy (Govinda) gave blockbusters. He and David Dhawan gave Shola Aur Shabnam, Aankhen, Raja Babu, Jodi No 1, Coolie No 1, and Haseena Maan Jaayegi, that back-to-back. I think he didn't get his due otherwise he would have been the biggest superstar. Ab social media hai, ek chalti hai toh sab chilate hai. Back-to-back for ten years both (Govinda and David Dhawan).”

Cirkus is an adaptation of Shakespeare's play The Comedy Of Errors, has been directed by Rohit Shetty. The film features Ranveer Singh in lead role and it also feature Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Tiku Talsania, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirjee. It is Ranveer Singh's third collaborative project with Rohit Shetty. The duo first worked together in the 2018 film Simmba and Sooryavanshi.
