FIH Series Finals: Indian women's hockey team defeats Japan in final

The Indian women's hockey team defeated Japan 3-1 here on Sunday to win the FIH Women's Series Finals with the help of two goals from Gurjit Kaur. India has entered in the final by defeating chile with 4-2.

India got a penalty corner in the third minute of the game, on which they scored a goal to take a 1-0 lead. For India, it was scored by captain Rani Rampal. Japan then scored a 1-1 lead through a field goal in the 11th minute. For Japan, the goal was scored by Kennon Mori.No goal in the second quarter, but Gurjit Kaur scored a brilliant drag flick for India in the last minute of the third quarter. India entered the last quarter with a 2-1 lead. In this quarter, though Japan had many chances to equalise, it could not redeem them. India, however, scored a penalty corner in the 60th minute to secure India's victory with a 3-1 margin. Rani was the best player of the tournament, while Gurjit scored the most goals.

Glenn McGrath said this about Dhoni's future in cricket.
