Dehradun: After the Rishi Ganga deluge, 360 families of 13 villages in China border area have been imprisoned in their villages. Employment and movement have become troublesome in front of them. Many people had shops in Tapovan, but due to the damage there, people are not able to reach their shops. After the disaster, the villagers are completely dependent on the assistance of the administration. The villagers are talking on the phone to their families repeatedly and share their problems.

Being in the border area, the villages in the Neeti Valley are also called Second Defense Line villages and these villages are inhabited by villagers of the Bhotia tribe. In the disaster, villagers have been imprisoned for 5 days due to the 90-meter long motor bridge overflowing in Raini village on Joshimath-Malari highway. Many villagers here have shops in Tapovan and Joshimath, but they are not able to go to the shop. The villagers are returning to their homes by purchasing essential goods from Suranithota market. Shankar Singh of Peng village said that life has been reduced since the disaster. Sanjay of Tolma village said that he has a shop in Joshimath. He has been wandering unemployed since the disaster. Sohan of Suranithota also had a shop in Tapovan, but he has not been able to open the shop since contact with the lower area has been cut.

Sohan said that if there is no system of movement for more time, then problems will increase. Laxman Butola, the head of Suki village, said that work is being done to distribute the ration kits from house to house.

Rani Chak Laata, Peng, Muranda, Laeta, Tolma, Jungju, Juva-Guad, Suki, Bhalgaon, Fakti, Long and Bhangaul villages losses connection with headquarter. Ration kits and medical teams have been sent to 13 villages of Neeti Valley. The villagers are not being allowed any inconvenience. The villagers still have enough food grains. A helicopter has been arranged to bring and take any sick person. The work of smooth supply of communication and electricity is being done in the villages.
