Health emergency in Bengal due to dengue, central govt should send team: Suvendu Adhikari

Kolkata: BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari has written a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya over the rising dengue cases in Bengal. Through this, the officer has requested the Centre to send a team of doctors to the state, so that the state government can be guided and people can get relief. He said that there is a situation of health emergency in West Bengal these days.

BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari tweeted, "The dengue situation in West Bengal has gone out of control. This is due to the incompetence of the State Government. I have written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, requesting him to send a central team of doctors and public health experts. This team will guide the Bengal government and people will get relief.''

Pointing to the alarming dengue situation in Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari wrote in his letter, "At a time when the national capital is choking (air pollution), the people of West Bengal are suffering from mosquitoes. Dengue has engulfed West Bengal. In the last three months, dengue cases have increased in many parts of the state. The worst affected areas are Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, Hooghly and Howrah.''
