Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajendran today announced that the corona virus vaccine would be taken for the first time to build confidence in the people against the vaccine. But he did not do so, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "harsh instructions". Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a vaccination campaign in the country.

The Prime Minister's Office reiterated that politicians should not jump into the vaccine line and wait for their turn, even though they are trying to build confidence and motivate the people. The warning came from the Prime Minister when the Haryana government requested that the first phase of vaccination and public representatives like MPs and MLAs should also be included.

Health ministers from Bihar and Odisha also demanded that the public representatives from panchayats to parliament be treated as frontline workers and vaccinated.

In the first phase of the vaccination, frontline workers such as health workers, police, civil security personnel and sanitation workers are at the top of the government's priority list. The second priority list is those over 50 years old and other high-risk groups such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
