Bengaluru, on Thursday, a 24-year-old engineer from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh received a heart from a donor at M.S. Ramaiah Narayana Heart Centre in the city.
According to sources at hospital, "the son of a labourer, he had dilated cardiomyopathy and was in need of a transplant. The Andhra Pradesh government is bearing the cost of the treatment".
The donor was from the same hospital. The liver and kidney were sent to other hospitals in the city.
