Mumbai: Eleven people lost their lives due to heatstroke at a felicitation function organised in Maharashtra. While the health of many people deteriorated, who have been admitted to the hospital. The programme started at 11 a.m. and went on for about 3 hours. It was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Kapil Patil, and state cabinet ministers, among others.

Home Minister Amit Shah presented the prestigious award to social activist Dattatreya Narayan Dharmadhikari, popularly known as Appasaheb Dharmadhikari. More than 3 lakh people had gathered for the event, and the temperature was recorded at 42 degrees Celsius.
