Heavy Fog engulfs North India These trains delayed by 1-8 hrs

NEW DELHI: Many Trains were running late by as much as 8 hours behind their scheduled time of arrival in New Delhi and neighbouring states. As many as  15 trains in the Northern Railway region were delayed as sheets of mist spread over most parts of North India from  Monday morning, affecting visibility.

According to the Railways, the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express (delayed by two hours), the Gaya-New Delhi Mahabodhi Express (delayed by one and a half hours), the Barauni-New Delhi Clone Special (delayed by one and a half hours), the Gorakhpur-Bathinda Gorakhdham Express (delayed by one hour), the Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express (delayed by eight hours (4 hours).

The Raigir-New Delhi Shramjeevi Express (1.15 hours), the Raxaul-Anand Vihar Terminal Sadbhavana Express (3.30 hours), the Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Gondwana (2 hours), the Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa SF Express (1 hour), the MGR Chennai Central-New Delhi Grand Trunk Express (1.45 hours), and the MGR Chennai Central (1.30 hours).

The passengers' suffering increased as they waited for hours at the New Delhi railway station due to delays in the arrival of trains.

Meanwhile, New Delhi witnessed yet another morning of shivering cold as Safdarjung and Palam registered a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees and 6.0 degrees Celsius respectively, as [er India Meteorological Department on Tuesday.
